These Beautiful Wood And Resin Lamps Look Like Little Bits Of The Ocean (20 Pics)

Şamil Demirel is a Turkish artist who makes beautiful lamps that look like little bits of the ocean by mixing wood and resin. The artist said in an interview with DeMilked that about 6 years ago, he got into wood carving, initially starting by creating necklaces, small sculptures, and medium-sized decorative objects. Upon a friend’s suggestion, Şamil applied resin to some of the necklaces he had been making, and he started mixing it with some of his sculptures and other carved objects after seeing several popular examples of resin art on the internet.

When asked what materials he uses to create his art, the artist said that he uses olive wood for the trunk and base, and basswood for smaller objects. “Sometimes I use ceramic paste and bending wire for different designs,” added Şamil.

“The appreciation of my work makes me very happy. Most of all, it is very valuable to me that people buy it as a gift to the people they love,” said the artist. “It is also a source of pride for me that my name is mentioned and praised in addition to my work. However, I would like to emphasize that my work just consists of imitation of nature. Nature, the source of all inspiration and beauty. Therefore I am convinced that nature itself deserves all the praise and appreciation.”
