Baby Parrot That Fell From His Nest, Rescued by a Dog And His Family Welcomes Him

Davila and her Labrador dog, Hiro, have been living together in Puerto Rico, sharing their daily lives, helping each other and showing each other love. One could assume that the bond between the owner and the dog was the limit of how far their compassion would go. But the dog still needs to teach a lot to its owner.

The story told by The Dodo, places the Labrador Hiro one morning at the entrance of the house. His owner noticed that he has been looking to the grass to find something. Classic things: the dogs’ attention can be drawn by anything.

As soon as the dog saw his owner was standing there, he began to lick the grass. Then he would look at her and lick again. There was no other way to comment on it: his purpose was to get her attention.

What the dog had in front of him was a tiny little parrot. Not only was it a baby of a couple of weeks old, but it was also particularly small. Davila picked up the bird and brought it into the house.

On a visit to the vet, she was informed that the little parrot was paraplegic. Most likely it had fallen out of the nest. Between his injuries and the lack of supervision, his mother decided not to try to raise him any more.

That’s when animal compassion kicked in. On the days Davila agreed to look after the little parrot, her dog took to heart the task. Soon he was playing with it. They took a nap together and basically behaved like the best of brothers.

Davila had no choice but to adopt the little parrot. No one was happier about this decision than Hiro. Now the Labrador spends his afternoons playing with the little parrot, and the parrot doesn’t even notice that he can’t live a normal bird’s life.
